xD i was gonna say... "what the hell? i didn't type ship!"

"Haru. You are grounded. For life." His father grabbed his arm and dragged him down the street and back to their house. All the while Haru looked back towards Lilian, longing for just one more kiss.

Her mother pushed her toward the car. Just her luck, they'd come home the long way.

"You can never step foot outside this house again."

That worked out well, seeing as I had to go too and didn't have time to tell you

"From now on you'll be in your room. You have the room with the shower, so that's no problem. And we'll take your food to you." "You agree? Great." "Perfect, really. When school starts up again you won't be able to see friends." "You'll focus on your studies." "Glad you see it our way."

"But Papa -"
"No buts. You have brought disgrace to this family."
He jerked out of his father's grasp, tears slowly dripping down his face. "No. You have forgotten what you promised me when you uprooted our lives in Japan and made us live here. You promised me freedom and happiness. I haven't gotten the least bit of freedom from you. Lilian was my happiness. You have taken my happiness away from me as well. Who am I supposed to be to you, Papa?" the tears came faster. "I'm not the helpless little baka I used to be. I am NOT going to marry Mimi. She is a nice girl, Papa. But she is related to me by blood. I don't want your help anymore. I just want out." He rushed up to his room slamming the door, crying as he started packing a bag with his things.

When they returned home, Lilian was escorted to her room by her mother. As soon as she left, she made sure it was locked and began to pack a few things into her pack. "I have to follow my own road. I don't want you both controling my life. I love you dearly, but you're driving me mad."

He finished packing and scrawled a quick note on the bathroom mirror in sharpie. Goodbye. I don't need you anymore. It was nice while it lasted. But now I must branch off onto my own route. He wrote it in Japanese characters as well, so his grandmother and grandfather could understand when they got a picture of it in Japan. He grabbed his guitar and slipped out his window, closing and locking it behind him.

She slid a note under the door, and went to the window. She was on the second floor, but the jump down wasn't bad.

He climbed down the side of the house, lowering his belongings before jumping down. Freedom... the word rang in his ears as he set off towards the woods.

She placed her pack on her back, and started off.

Rhymes

It was just about sunset; he doubted his parents would know he was gone until it was too late to stop him.

She found her way into the woods that seperated the town from the highway.

He found a small alcove and set his stuff down there. He spotted Lilian a little ways away and called out quietly to her. "Lilian!"

"Haru!" she called back, quickening her pace.

D: i sorry for leaving. i had voice lessons.

He ran over and hugged her tightly.

Lilian hugged him back, smiling. "Didn't expect to see you."

He grinned. "I didn't expect to see you, either..."

"How'd you get out?"

"Bedroom window... And being silent. My parents have the ears of bats." He helped her put her stuff down. "How'd you get past your parents?"

"Same, only I didn't have to worry about being quiet."

"I found this little alcove where we can stay hidden for a while, until we can find somewhere to go." He showed her to it, pushing branches out of their way.

"Nice."

"I wonder what they'll do when they find out we're gone..."

"I know my mom will have an epic freak out and call the police." Lilian said, snickering.

"My father will probably haul me back to Japan. Which is why I can't let them find me... or you."
