"Alright." Lilian said, walking up to her room and plopping down on the bed. She stayed that way until her parents made her eat at least something.

ish okie. sleep is the best medicine... or is that laughter? xD

The clock read 9:30PM. "HARU! EAT SOMETHING!" his mother called from the kitchen. He didn't answer. "HARU!" He sighed and got up, slowly making his way downstairs. He sat at the table and pushed the pasta around his plate with his fork. He at one piece and placed his fork on the table. "There. I ate something. Bye." He made it as far as the hallway until his father stopped him. "Eat. Now."

"Lilian, you seem a little down." "Probably just lack of sleep, that's why we're taking away your tv." "Right, from now I'll you'll be in bed by ten." "And afteer while maybe you can get it back." "Where are you going? You've hardly touched your chicken." "You'll need to eat more then that." "Tired?" "Alright, go on to bed." Lilian sighed, and continued to her room. They always talked like that, as if they could answer for her.

After reluctantly finishing his dinner, he placed his plate in the sink and headed up to his room. "'Night," he called down the stairs. He took off his shoes but left his clothes on. He pretended to be asleep until his parents were also in bed.

She sat on her bed, looking throughher journal. She never realized how controling her parents were until today. So focused on her education, on her being the first woman president. Making a difference in the world. They expected her to be Superwoman, but how could she?

Haru stood up, making sure he didn't make a sound. He opened the big window and climbed out onto the roof. He stopped, put his shoes on, and jumped down. It was a small drop.

She was only two years away from adulthood. Then she could move out and be whoever she wanted to be.

He regained his balance and started walking down the street. He was determined to see her.

She looked over at her window and opened it. Like most nights, the stars were out. They were beautiful to look at, and sometimes you'd be lucky enough to see a shooting star.

He slipped through the trees, making his way to her back yard.

Soon there was a rustling, like someone moving through the bushes. It didn't worry her, she knew there were all sorts of creatures out there. But as it became louder, she became worried.

He tripped over a root. "Shit..." he whispered, getting up.

Thump! "Lilian? What was that?" "Just a book, sorry." she replied, squinting her eyes in the darkness to see who, or what, it was.

He brushed himself off and looked up at the house, the light from inside bright on his face.

"Haru?"

He smiled sheepishly. "Hi..."

"What are you doing here?"

"I... I wanted to see you."

"What about your parents?"

"My parents have been hiding from who I am for a long time. I don't care what they think anymore."

She smiled, and looked back at her door. "Wish I had the courage to sneak out after dark.

He smiled and chuckled a bit. "I'll regret it later. But I don't want to think about that right now."

"What do you want to think about?"

He looked down and kicked a pebble. "You..." he said quietly.
